‘Our Pre-11+ programme is targeted at Year 3 children and is focussed on developing core English and Maths skills so they are equipped with the foundations to confidently tackle specific 11+ exam preparation in Years 4 and 5. The programme has the added advantage of becoming familiar with our tuition environment, working with our teachers, and instilling healthy additional study routines which work around school, home and extra-curricular activities, without causing undue pressure.’

What to expect in our classes
Our sessions are taught by a qualified teacher and are pre-planned. They incorporate a short quiz and a brief homework recap to gauge our students’ development in the key areas taught. We demonstrate how to work through the different question styles that are set out in the exams, before we attempt to tackle various similar sample questions collectively during our session.
Homework Commitments
We wholeheartedly appreciate homework commitments from school are increasingly demanding for both students and parents, and students can be resistant to additional study. In order to maximise the benefits of our sessions, reinforcement throughout the week is essential, so when we reconvene the following week, concepts learnt have been built upon, reiterated and cemented in the students’ knowledge. From here, we can identify gaps and move on to more advanced material. We will focus our homework topics on areas covered in the most recent session, with continual emphasis on mental arithmetic and broadening each child’s vocabulary.
We are not directly connected with the ‘GL assessment’ 11+ test providers, but we have planned our programme specifically to equip our students for the repeated patterns of these tests.
